Britt died suddenly last Sunday afternoon about 5:00 o'clock, at his home 3 miles north of Roberta. His death was caused by heart trouble and he expired before medical aid could be summoned. Mr. Britt was 74 years and had long been a prominent citizen of Crawford. He was a member of Providence Church. He is survived by one brother, three sons and three daughters. The burial was held at the Miller cemetary. Mr. Jeff D. McGee performing the burial rites. Note: Spiller's/Bond Cemetery is the current cemetery name. The obituary states that Henry was buried in "Miller Cemetery." Side Note: Same page, "local news" item: John Britt and daughter Maud Thames of Zenith attended the funeral of Mr. Henry. Note (9) See "CSA Internment, Henry N Britt.JPG" under pictures tab. The cemetery name has been changed. When Henry's wife Elizabeth "Betsy" Miller-Britt was buried, her obituary indicated she was buried in the Family Cemetery (Miller Cemetery). When Henry passed on, his obituary indicates he was buried in the Miller Family Cemetery. The cemetery is presently known as Spillers/Bond Family Cemetery. Note (10) The marriage certificate for Henry and Elizabeth "Betsy" indicate they were married June 6, 1850, in Crawford County. They are found together September 4th, in the home of Sanders Bond on the 1850 Census, As "Brit"; Elizabeth is listed as 17. On September 5th, Elizabeth Miller is found in the home of her father Mason Miller, and she is listed as 16. It can only be assumed at this point, that Henry and Elizabeth married; but her father Mason, had not yet been informed. Note (11) Elizabeth is listed twice on the 1850 census. Once with her father Mason at age (16); with her husband Henry Britt, in the home of Sanders Bond at age (18). The date of birth on her marker at Miller/Spillers/Bond Cemetery has a YOB as 1833, which would make her age 17 in 1850.
