Graveside services will be 3P.M. Wednesday, June 15, 2004 in Oaklawn Cemetery with Rev. Charles Carter officiating. Born in Crawford County, Mrs. Walton worked at Carter's Mill and was retired from Blue Bird Wanderlodge and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church since 1950. Survivors include husband, Davis Walton of Fort Valley; children, Danny and Marisa Walton of Lizella; Cheryl and George McCranie of Fort Valley, Ramona and Richard Tolbert of Fort Valley; step-children, James C. Walton of Fort Valley and Beverly Hill of Biloxi, MI; sisters, Evelyn McGill, Ora Marshall, Carolyn Dampier, Dorothy Ambrose and Winson Pressley; seven grandchildren and four step-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 14 at Rooks Funeral Home in Fort Valley. The family may otherwise be contacted at the residence. Mitchell -FORT VALLEY - Funeral services for Earl Merritt Mitchell will be held at 3P.M., Wednesday, April 30, 2003 at Bethel United Methodist Church. Interment will be at Little Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Mitchell, age 72, died Saturday, April 26, 2003. Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his parents, Fannie Ruth Merritt Mitchell and James Edward Mitchell. -Mr. Mitchell was a life long resident of Crawford County. He retired from Wanderlodge in Fort Valley after twenty-five years of service. -Survivors include one son, Danny V. Mitchell of Lizella; two daughters: Cheryl Mitchell Crump McCranie and Ramona Mitchell Tolbert both of Fort Valley; sister, Betty Mitchell Hamlin of Lizella; seven grandchildren: Jarrett, Laura and Clay Mitchell, Amanda and Adam Crump and Billy and Brian Tolbert; two step-grandchildren. -Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 9:00P.M.
