Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Smith, age 89, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2002. She was proceded in death by her husband, Wiley Eugene Smith, her son Gene Smith and her daughter Ann Artley. She was a life long resident of Crawford County and a homemaker. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law: Ronald and Delores Smith, Knoxville, GA, Paul and Cecile Smith, Young Harris, GA; her daughter and son-in-law: Linda and Cary Stokes, Knoxville, GA; a daughter-in-law: Ann Smith, Knoxville; her sisters: Ora Marshall, Lizella, Evelyn McGill, Musella, Jewel Walton, Fort Valley, Carolyn Demphier, Lakeland, GA, Dorothy Ambrose and Winson Pressley, both of Roberta; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Goddard Funeral Home of Roberta has charge of arrangements.
