Rev. Frank Chapman will officiate. Childers died July 3, 2001 in a Ft. Valley hospital. Mr. Childers was born in Crawford Co., Georgia, and had lived in Macon most of his life. He was retired from American Freight Lines, where he was a truck driver and he was a Baptist. He was a member of the Georgia Sheriff's Boys Ranch. He was preceded in death by a special friend, Virginia Hortman. Survivors: brother, Nathaniel "Buck" Childers of Butler, Ga.; sisters, Louise Bone and Frances Harman, both of Butler, Ga., Jewell Turner, Jeanette Turner and Ann Garner, all of Roberta, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation: Wednesday, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Crest Lawn Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. Transcriber's Note: There is no Knoxville City Cemetery.
