A native of Georgia, he was the son of the late Oscar C. Prince, Sr., and Minnie Britt Prince and was a retired carpenter. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Jean Davis Prince of Lewisburg; a step-daughter, Mrs. Pam Laird of Lewisburg; a step-son, Howard Allen Collins of Chapel Hill; and a sister, Mrs. Ruth Dennett of Washington, D.
