Notes for: William Long
William Long moved into Bibb County near Lizella by 1844, where he was a planter. He continued to live in that community until his death. Five sons of William went to the Civil War, and only William Berrien returned. He served in the Fort Valley Infantry, from Houston County. William was given a license to be a lay preacher from Mount Paran (P.B.) Church, and attended many of their association meetings as a delegate.
