Notes for: Thomas Reid Molton

In a telephone conversation between Rozine and Reid on Saturday, October 14, 2000; Reid said he and his father, John Thomas Molton, Jr., worked in construction. They were hired by Mr. Robert L. Sheets, to build the Crawford County High School gym and annex on the cafeteria. Reid laughed during the conversation, saying he had to make a trip to Roberta, soon; because 'those Hortman boys' made the ONLY teeth that he could wear! He laughingly reflected on how much fun, he and "Uncle Lewis' had in driving that Model A in the sandbeds on Britt Hill. He asked if E.H. was my father; to which I responded 'yes'. Reid and his father also built LAT Sportswear in Industrial Park, off Hwy 128 west, in Roberta.

Reid told me that he had also had heart by-pass surgery. His surgery was performed in Savannah and his Doctor, is in Vidalia, Georgia. I asked Reid if we were related to Willie B. Moulton, who resided in Knoxville, GA, directly behind the Courthouse and his reply: Willie B. got 'damn rich' when he did some work on the courthouse and changed his name by putting the 'u' in Molton and that the family didn't really consider him 'part' of the family any longer! When I asked him about dates and names of the family members, he told me I would have to talk to Mary Lucille, as he (Reid) didn't want ANYTHING OLDER than HIM in his house!!
