Notes for: William Henry McKinley Britt Sr.
The middle initial "H" was located on a deed from Henry to Elizabeth; upon her death to be divided amoung the youngest children and Wm H. was listed as such. It was indicated on the 1900 census that William "M." and Mollie L. had been married 7 years at census time. Which seems for the time being to be the marriage indicated in Crawford County Marriage Book 5. The full name was first thought to be William Henry Minus Britt, as provided by ggg-grandaughter Connie Britt-Nixon. The locating of a death certificate for William Henry McKinley Britt Jr. and later correspondence from Connie indicates the "M" stands for McKinley, not Minus.
The children listed as grand-daughters with William Britt on the 1920 census, are listed as Britt. They were originally thought to be children of Norman; however it was later discovered they are children of Beulah and her first husband J. J. "Stonewall" Ford.
