Notes for: Valaria Roberts
There is an unresolved issue with Valaria. Her obituary, implies that her maiden name is Wilder. Her marriage to Jeremiah is recorded in Crawford County, Georgia; Indexed twice (William Henry, and Lewis Andrews' lists) as: Britt, Jeremiah to Roberts, Valina and Butt, Jeremiah to Roberts, Valira; both in Marriage Book B.. She is mentioned in the Last Will and Testament of James Roberts Sr. (Crawford County) as "a younger child of his deceast son ... named Valaria." Her obituary, indicates that she was survived by her mother Mrs. Wilder, a brother Oscar Wilder, and sisters. A marriage of Valaria Wilder to an unknown Roberts as not been located; however, Harriett Ann Moore is known to have married James Monroe Roberts Jr.. She and daughter Valaria are found in the home of Willis Wilder on the 1870 census of Crawford County. Based upon the 1870 census, it appears that Willis Wilder's wife had died, Harriett Ann Moore-Roberts' husband had died; so Harriett and Willis married. A marriage record has not been located in Crawford County, to validate this theory.
