Notes for: Martha Ann Britt

Martha lived with sister Minnie Lee for a short time. There had been confusion of Martha's middle initial. The marriage index of her to Alfred Wright (Stephen Alfred) has her listed as Martha "L." Britt. The 1880 census for Crawford County, has her correctly identified as Martha "A." Wright. This was confirmed through a land deed between her and brother Lewis M. Britt; in which she is specifically named as Martha Ann Wright. On initial glance of the Crawford County marriage index, it appears that Alfred Wright married Oma Grace about a year after his marriage to Martha. The 1880 census confirms at least, that Alfred and Martha were still together seven years after their marriage.
