Notes for: Elizabeth Mathews

Some researchers have Elizabeth listed as a Mathis. It is not clear at this point, if her maiden name is Mathis or Mathews; however, her earlier marriage to Thomas McGraw, is indexed as Elizabeth Mathews (transcriber's index). On the 1850 census child Thomas (Jr.) is listed as McGraw. On the 1860 census he is listed as Thomas Britt. Adoption by Kinchen has not been confirmed by record. Elizabeth on 1850 census (age 29) born about 1821; 1860 census (age 38) born about 1822; 1870 census (age 48) born about 1822; 1880 census (age 50) born about 1830; 1900 census (age 78) born about 1822. On the 1880 census, her age should be 60; however is clearly marked 50 (does appear corrected).
